BLACK WALNUT CAKE

Delicious with vanilla ice cream

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1¾ cups flour
¼ cup teaspoon salt
1 cup coarsely chopped black walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon extract
6 eggs
2 tablespoons powdered sugar

In large mixing bowl, place in order listed, all ingredients except powdered sugar.  Beat slowly until blended.  Beat at high speed 5 minutes.  Turn into greased 10-inch bundt pan.  Bake in preheated  325* oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until rich and golden and pick inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool in pan on wire rack 5 minutes.  Gently loosen: invert on rack: turn top side up: cool completely.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar.  Makes 24 thin wedges.
